Trifecta Technologies Case Study
1on1heatlh.com

Patients anywhere can go to this website to gain information in their own languages for a variety of health topics. They can see videos, interactive presentations, and also take surveys. This unbranded website is also a tool for doctors to use to help their patients find information about their own health issues, and to get free advice and materials.
What makes this health topic information website unique is the way in which information is loaded to the website. Instead of having to make code changes to the website to add more information, administrative users only need to load new XML content to the website. Each health topic that appears on the website has a corresponding set of content that can have any number of pages. Not only that, but the content is loaded in differing languages so that patients can see the corresponding pages in their own languages. It is even possible to generate a CD version of selected health topics so that doctors have something to hand to their patients.
Business Challenge
The firm came to Trifecta Technologies and requested their technical expertise to produce a flexible web page generation application. Because the web page content of this site changed frequently, it was not cost-effective to make programming changes every time the organization needed to update web pages or even add new health topics. The challenge was to produce an application that could easily integrate HTML content into the framework of the website without requiring technical expertise on the part of the content writers.
Trifecta's Solution
-
Trifecta developed, along with the client's team, a framework and look and feel for the website.
-
After the general framework was determined, Trifecta designed a structure for the content XML so that users can easily create their own content and load it to the application.
-
Trifecta has continued to develop new features and enhancements in a way that the content writers can incorporate as needed.
Impact
The website has been live for nearly five years, expanding from four health topics in English to more than 15 topics in English and most of them also in Spanish. The usability of the website has also driven many new features since it was created.
